Due:
I am going to have you use your imaginations a little bit this week. You would have been sitting your first paper this week, so let's imagine that the exams were still happening, and that Cambridge had decided to allow you to bring ONE standard 5x8 index card into the exam. You can include ANYTHING on the index card, but you only get the one card, and it has to be used for all 3 parts of the exam!
Find a 5x8 index card (or if you don't have one handy, just measure a piece of paper 5 inches by 8 inches) and create a cheat sheet for yourself. You can use both sides of the index card, and you can include anything that you want. Think about the things that would be most likely to give you trouble on the exam, and what information would be most helpful to improving your score.
Submit a picture (or pictures) of BOTH sides of your index card. (Try and take pictures where the writing is still legible as I am interested in the content of your cards!)

Based on the results of the quizizz assignments from the past couple of weeks it seems to me that almost everyone needs more practice with the qualitative identification of unknowns, which is generally one of the hardest sections of the exam... It would be nice to practice this in the lab, but obviously that isn't possible so...
The video linked below shows someone carrying out the process to identify two unknown substances, just like you would do during the exam. Watch the video and use the accompanying worksheet to analyze the evidence and identify the unknown substances. You will be doing this work individually, and you will need to log in to Kami simply because it is the easiest way I have found for you to write answers directly into a PDF file.
You have 1 week to complete all the questions in the worksheet and submit the completed work. If you are unsure about something, I encourage you to start getting into the habit of asking them here as a comment below. One of the important things that is missing from this online format is the ability for you to rely on one another to solve problems. I am happy to answer your questions, but if you ask them here it gives everyone a chance to see the question and potentially respond with an answer.
You should try and treat each assignment posted here as a place to carry out discussions about the assignment. Ask questions here, respond to one another's questions here, add any thoughts or comments about the assignment here... it is the easiest way for all of us to see and respond to one another.

Due:
Log onto quizizz and complete the practice quiz. The questions are timed, so be sure you are prepared before you begin (have a calculator, periodic table and some scratch paper handy).

Due:
Use the mark scheme attached below to go over you and your partners work from last week. Note any incorrect answers on the document, and give yourself a score at the bottom of the document.
Write any questions you have in the comments section below (and if you see any questions from your peers you think you can answer, do that as well).

Due:
Click the link below and record a short video about how you have been keeping occupied over the last month!
Due:
If you took notes during the video in the previous assignment, keep them handy for this kahoot!
If you didn't take any notes in the previous assignment, and/or you aren't sure you remember anything from the video you may want to go back and watch it again (not required):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeUNWY7YDAo
You can take multiple attempts at the Kahoot if you feel you can do better. You have until Sunday to get it done, and whatever your highest score is when it closes that is the score I will give you. If you want credit for the assignment make sure your nickname is something I can easily identify as YOU - don't use any wacky nicknames that I am not going to recognize because you won't get any credit!

Due:
Create a video of you explaining how to name organic compounds. You can do this however you would like... use a whiteboard or sheet of paper, write a song about it, teach your dog - whatever you want as long as you are explaining how to name things! The video doesn't need to be any specific length - long enough for you to explain the material.
When you are finished you can either upload the video here or post a link to where it is. If you like what you have done and are happy with the product, I can ask to have it shared on Victoria's social media accounts...

Due:
Edpuzzle | The Whole of AQA - ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. GCSE Chemistry or Combined Science Revision Topic 7 for C2
Due:
As you sign up for Khan Academy I will be assigning you some videos to watch. I will assign different videos to those of you who are doing core vs. extended, and depending on what I think would benefit you most. Each of you will be getting about 40-60 minutes worth of viewing. You you will have until Tuesday (or next "class") to get everything done - you don't have to do it all in one sitting! Break it up into chunks - watch one or two videos a day, make some notes to help yourself remember what the main points of the video were. Use your time as constructively as possibly because your exams are right around the corner (maybe).
Due:
Go to Khan Academy (link below) and choose sign in with google and use your Victoria information
Due:
Complete both worksheets on naming. Only name the compounds with a SINGLE branch - you do NOT need to worry about how to name the compounds with multiple branches!
The link below walks through the steps involved in naming in case you are still not confident

Due:
Do the end of chapter problems for chapters 7, 8 and 14...
If you are doing core - only do the core problems
If you are doing extended - only do the odd numbered problems
If you are doing core - only do the core problems
If you are doing extended - only do the odd numbered problems
Due:
In the reactions below, which element is being oxidised and which reduced?
1. 2Ca + O2 --> 2CaO
2. NaBr + Cl2 --> NaCl + Br2
3. 2Al + Fe2O3 --> 2Fe + Al2O3
1. 2Ca + O2 --> 2CaO
2. NaBr + Cl2 --> NaCl + Br2
3. 2Al + Fe2O3 --> 2Fe + Al2O3
Due:
Print out, or answer in notebook and bring with you on Tuesday!
Due:
Click the link below and select "login with google" and login using your Victoria email. This will add you to my Y11 class on CK12. Once you have joined you will be able to see assignments I post. Complete the first assignment on naming so that I can see what you do and don't understand!
