WEEKLY NEWSLETTER No. 746
Friday 27th January, 2012.
Dear Parents,
Congratulations to Luis Rodrigo, Year 11, who has been selected to represent Queretaro in Tae Kwon Do. Luis Rodrigo has also been selected to try out for the state rugby team along with Diego Gonzalez and Andrés Pazos from Year 11. We are very proud of our students’ sporting successes!
On Monday 30th January our Primary football team will be playing against Real de Querenda in VICTORIA at 3:00pm. Please come along and show your support!
On Wednesday this week Year 4 were led on an exciting scientific field trip by Mrs. Cázares, Miss Beaty, Susi and Ale. They went to investigate geothermal activity in Tequisquiapan, near Hacienda Grande. They are displaying their samples and results at a Science and Technology event in the Community Centre today and will tell us all about both events next week. We would like to thank Homero Vega for sharing his views on how the Ciénega has changed over the years.
Baker Books catalogues come home today and I hope that you will enjoy choosing some books with your children over the weekend. We shall be receiving orders all next week. I am sure that lots of Primary students will want the Lego book! Lego Club is our most popular after school activity. There are beautiful sets of Roald Dahl and Harry Potter stories and I am impressed with the range of information and life skills books.
Year 12 girls are collecting all old and unused jeans for a Business Studies Project to promote recycling. They will be collecting until February 1st, 2012. Only blue jeans are accepted. Thank you for your help and support. The word of the week is ‘community’.
We found out this week that the Orphanage time will have to move out of the house they are renting in 5 months. This represents a huge challenge since houses for rent elsewhere are expensive, not to mention the fact that it would be ideal if they could make minor modifications to the construction they have already started so they can move in June. However they are in need of lots of resources which they do not have. Would you like to help them out? Please contact Mrs Colores at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and she can tell you how. Again, thank you for your help.
We will soon be organising activities related to Prepa students’ vocational orientation. These plans include fairs and 2 days work experience for Yr. 12. If any of you are interested in lending a hand, please fill out the attached form. We would like to have professionals come in and talk to the students about the activities related to their jobs, as well as those who manage their own businesses or employees who might be able to open a few doors for our students to experience a particular job for a few days. Again, if you have any questions or comments, please contact Mrs. Colores at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
