Primary Book Week
Book Week is a wonderfully different week in Primary. Class teachers choose a book, both to introduce to the children and to base their ‘usual’ lessons on. Language and art elements can be obvious but it is fun to learn what the teachers plan for maths and science work that week!
Sometimes students can read the text themselves, some teachers read the book to the class while others choose to tell it in their own words. The library and book shops are suddenly raided as children love to have their own copy. Homework often involves creating a costume for the Friday Book Launch.
