Scholarships

Students and their families need to be fully aware of all guidelines and deadlines applicable to their application, and must read this document to ensure a thorough understanding of the procedures and possible issues that govern the application process.

Components of the process addressed in these guidelines are:

1. Scholarship Committee
2. Scholarships available through Instituto Bilingüe VICTORIA
3. Application Process
4. Scholarship Percentage Allocation
5. Interview / Day Trial
6. Scholarship Offer and Acceptance
7. Terms and Conditions of Scholarship Maintenance
8. Scholarship Application Closing Dates
9. Ejido Hacienda Grande Committee Contact Details

1. Scholarship Committee

The selection process will be conducted by Instituto Bilingüe VICTORIA’s Scholarship Committee. Candidates will be notified of the outcome approximately eight (8) weeks after the scholarship application reception period has concluded.

The Scholarship Committee is responsible for the selection of all recipients of VICTORIA scholarships. The decision of the Committee regarding the awarding of scholarships is final. If there were a disagreement within the Committee, the General Director will have the final say.

2. Scholarships available through Instituto Bilingüe VICTORIA

Scholarships are only available to students applying to study at Instituto Bilingüe VICTORIA for the very first time when the student is a member of an Ejido Hacienda Grande (EHG) family. All EHG scholarship applications must be approved by the EHG Committee first. The EHG Committee is responsible for checking whether families belong to the EHG. They do not make decisions about whether a scholarship is granted. Please go to Section 9 for details on how to contact the EHG Committee. Once approved by the EHG Committee, the application can be given to Instituto Bilingüe VICTORIA. Acceptance of this scholarship request will depend on the pupil’s performance during their day trial (Nursery aged students do not need to participate in a day trial). Maintenance of these scholarships is dependent on the pupil and family meeting the criteria outlined in Section 7 of this document.

Academic Scholarships are also available to Prepa students who have studied at VICTORIA for a minimum of one year and who meet the academic scholarship requirements outlined in Section 6.1. Maintenance of these scholarships is dependent on the pupil and family meeting the criteria outlined in Section 7 of this document. There will be one academic scholarship awarded each academic year.

Temporary scholarships may be available to pupils whose families are experiencing temporary financial difficulty. These pupils will need to meet the financial scholarship requirements outlined in Section 6.2. These are temporary scholarships and a scholarship review date will be given if the scholarship is awarded. Criteria in Section 7 of this document will be taken into consideration when reviewing this type of scholarship.

3. Application Process

Application forms are available in Reception at Instituto Bilingüe VICTORIA or can be downloaded from the VICTORIA website www.victoriaschool.edu.mx. The criteria for the scholarships are outlined in this Scholarship Guidelines document. All criteria must be met, and the form completed by the due date (31st January) in order for it to be considered. As part of the selection process, parents and students may be required to attend an interview in person and/or a day trial. You may apply for a scholarship as many times as you wish, provided you meet the eligibility criteria.

Should the recipient of the scholarship no longer meet the scholarship criteria, the award may be discontinued, depending on the circumstances as determined by the Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee also reserves the right not to award a scholarship in any one year if there is, in the opinion of the Committee, no suitable candidate. In all circumstances, the decision of the Scholarship Committee is final.

4. Scholarship Percentage Allocation

The percentage of Academic Scholarships can range from 5-100%. This decision is made by the Scholarship Committee.

The percentage of temporary financial difficulty scholarships depends on the family’s needs.

For more information about the scholarship percentage awarded to members of Ejido Hacienda Grande, please contact the school directly.

5. Interview / Day Trial

Applicants for scholarships and their parents may be required to attend an interview in person. Applicants who are not yet studying at VICTORIA (only members of Ejido Hacienda Grande) must attend a Day Trial. Interviews and day trials may take place any time between the application deadline (31st January) and the meeting of the Scholarship Committee to determine the successful candidate(s). Failure to attend an interview and/or Day Trial will affect your application.
